About Me
A native of Scotland, born in the south west, of Pictish and Irish ancestry, the main influences in my art have been the Scottish Colourists, French Impressionists and Expressionist Abstract art forms. After completing an art and design course at Aberdeen College I worked in commercial design for several years before going on to study an MA in Psychology at Aberdeen University. I consequently worked as a lecturer and clinician while continuing to paint and draw. In the past few years I have come back full circle to practicing my art more fully again. My work is very eclectic, often done in a variety of mediums and in the main tends to be landscapes and buildings which often reflect the landscapes. More recently I have been drawn to the coastal areas of Scotland and especially the distinctive colours and shapes of the rock formations. This focus on shape and colour can also be seen in my recent work of vineyards in France My work has been exhibited and sold in several exhibitions and privately in Scotland and in international online exhibitions. I am a member of the Scottish Society of Artists
